Mahjong in Washington DC — FAQ
Where can I play mahjong in Washington DC?
American Mahjong clubs meet weekly at JCCs and synagogues in Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac, and Northern Virginia. Hong Kong Mahjong games are concentrated in Rockville, Wheaton, and Falls Church Asian American community centers.
Are there mahjong groups in Northern Virginia?
Yes — Falls Church, McLean, Vienna, and Tysons Corner all have recurring weekly games. The Eden Center area in Falls Church anchors much of the Hong Kong Mahjong activity for the region.
Are there beginner mahjong sessions in DC?
JCCs across the metro run American Mahjong beginner sessions seasonally. For Hong Kong Mahjong, look for cultural-center workshops — they run a few times a year and fill quickly.
